G+G are great guns, they come with tighbore barrels and m-110 springs, but in my opinion a CA is a better gun. I mean if you want a G+G get one. You asked and I gave my two cents.

if u want a great starting gun get a ICS mp5 but if budget is a factor get a g&g whatever. i started with an mp5. also it depends on what kind of gun you want. if you want a high mobility gun get a mp5. but if you want something with a little more range get a m16. also brand is important. like grimm said g&gs are upgraded with tightbores and a m110 spring. CA are also good choices. ICS are really great but a little expensive and have few choices. TMs are great but they have plastic bodies, i dont know if you really want an all metal body. Also if you want to get really in depth with gun choices, m-16,m-4 have more upgrades and cosmetics to them then other guns. I dont care what you choose, just giving you my two cents also.

what is important is you get a gun that you like the look and feel of, everything else is really secondary.
All guns have some kind of reliability issue or quirk, but they are all fixable, for example Mp5's and G3's front sets arent attached very strongly, and g36 mags are a huge pain to find pouches for, there's no perfect gun really.
Due to chinese(sp) new year, and the shot show, Todd hasnt been able to restock as quickly as he's been selling, so it might be worth calling him up and seeing if he's gotten a new shipment in if you are only going to make one trip out there to check out guns, to make sure he's got a good selection at the store for you to hold and see what you like.
