I was planning on buying a KJW M700 Takedown model gas powered sniper rifle. What are the common requirements for feet per second in the leagues and skirmishes? This rifle will fire 400 fps, is that too fast? Or is a gas powered gun not a good idea? Please help. Thanks

Any guns that shoot harder than that are classified as sniper rifles, and must be semi-auto only. Snipers must pass a sniper course, and operate in two man sniper teams. Max FPS for sniper weapons is 500 FPS with 0.2g BB's. Other fields may use different rules. The rules formulated by John Lu for the Lion Claws/Irene/etc. games allow much higher FPS limits, and many fields use those. It's the closest thing to a national standard that exists right now.

Make sure it is not your only gun (I dont know you, just making sure)
some games are not appropriate to have snipers in, if the op is designed around shorter range CQB-ish play, its possible that snipers may be removed entirely for that game.
I haven't had any experience with the takedown m700, but the standard KJWm700 was a bit on the inaccurate side stock, and needed alot of love to get to fire straight.
