He's pretty much got it
Too many people focus on the gun, but it really isn't about the gun, its about sneaking around and hunting without being seen or heard.
Honestly your best bet is to get a normal gun, and uniform, and play with that, don't upgrade the gun, and only run lows. It will teach you how move around undetected as you wont have range of anyone else.
The best snipers around started out using springers, where you had to come up at extreme close range at an unsuspecting target to have any realistic chance of hitting the person, the people who got good at it gravitated towards stealth gameplay. How hard is it to sneak within 200ft of your enemy when you are used to sneaking within 20?
The most important thing to remember is to have fun, everyone is going to play a little differently, For example Josh (caestro) is an excellent "sniper", but plays VERY differently than I do, same case with Ray (octluft), so researching what other people do and applying it to your game style is the way to go, not trying to mimic everything you see/read/ect.
All ways remember that you are an /at will/ player, rocking a high FPS rifle is a privilege not a right, its your biggest responsibility to know your rifle, tune it, know how it shoots, and chose your shots carefully to not hurt anyone (beyond whats expected of course)

go for the a vsr-10 or bar-10 if you want a springer but if you want semi go for a gas rifle or some thing like a gr-25.
